I just received my Vera3 this afternoon. I am starting out with a very basic setup - 2 interior light controls and 2 outdoor light switches. I apologize up front for a very basic question/problem. I have created my rooms. I then created my devices. This will probably sound very silly, but I am having problems assigning the devices to the rooms. I click on the wrench, then I click on Room: - I have the drop down list of the rooms that I have created, but as soon as I click on the room that I want to assign the device to, the list closes and no room has been selected. I was finally (after many repeats) able to get the two inside rooms paired to the proper devices. I have been trying (clicking) for over an hour to assign the outside lights to their devices, but have not had any success at all.
Has anyone else seen this “problem”? Any ideas/suggestions?
First make sure that you are on the latest firmware. Vera3 firmwares are in a rapid state of development and there were some bugs in earlier versions.
Make sure, also, that you click the red SAVE button in the top right corner, religiously, whenever you do something that causes it to appear.
Finally, as an experiment, see if using a different web browser has any effect. There has been a fair bit of unofficial talk that Firefox and Chrome work better than IE, so you may be able to add your weight to that.
