I just noticed that the new firmware is available. I have not seen any notes yet from MCV on what is fixed yet.
Well… I had nothing to loose doing the upgrade, so without the fix notes, I took the plung.
First impressions:
- Fixed screen objects for the devices. not overlapping … though I have not checked the NEST or others folks were complaining about.
- expanded the “other Users” layout and administration
- Alerts History - now readable
- Seems to be a little snappier in the screen fresh when navigating
I am sure there is more noticeable changes, but this is just a first attempt to let folks know. MCV has not posted anything as yet.
I will have to add back in my Thermostats to see if they are working now. so too soon to tell what the device fixes are, but it looks like a more cleaned up UI… Kicking the tires will determine how good…
As of new features:
[ul][li]Advanced editor appeared on scene creation screen (Step 3), but it seems to be simply just for fun there at the moment - it allows you only to call devices’ actions. Some could be useful, f. ex.:
- ToggleState
- ResetKWH
some could not: - Reconfigure (to make it useful you should also be able to set device’s params)
- GetLoadLevelStatus (what for? nothing to do with that later… not a chance to use returned valule in any statement, seems it’s just for fun)
and some are just repeating of Step 2: - SetTarget
- SetLoadLevelTarget
[/li]
[li]Last run & next run time appeared on scenes list[/li][/ul]
Some errors were corrected:
[ul][li]state management seems to work better, but I’m not sure if it’s working correctly[/li]
[li]light sensor value is displayed w/o ‘%’ sign[/li]
[li]0 (zero) values seems to be displaying correctly for light sensors (there were displayed as an empty value earlier)[/li]
[li]wake-up interval setting was removed from non battery-powered devices[/li][/ul]
Unfortunetely some new bugs appeared under IE11 (not observed using Chrome):
[ul][li]“Assigned to room” select is not working (undefined “option” is only visible)[/li]
[li]“Controlled by” select is not working (as above)[/li]
[li]alerts (Users & account info > Alerts) are displaying as “undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined”[/li]
[li]the same problem with devices’ history tab (logs)[/li][/ul]
Finally “A scene is activated” trigger appeared for all of my fibaro dimmers, but all of them (dimmers) are duplicated in advancd editor’s devices select (maybe it’s somehow related to dimmer’s S2).
Overall I’m a bit disappointed by this upgrade. MCV focused on - IMO - useless (at the moment) features instead of correcting all reported bugs/testing changes enough to find new obvious errors (it isn’t really hard to notice “undefined” strings on page).
Edit:
They also forgot about some of their promises:
- where’s “Create another device” button for plugins?
- where’s “Assigned to room” select for scenes?
BTW. Could someone think a bit and add “Room” label/column in Devices menu when view is set to Type or List?
I have got 7 dimmers and I really don’t want to name them “Kitchen dimmer”, “Hall dimmer”, etc. That’s what room select was designed for.
Another problem is device/scene name length limit. IMO 30/32 characters is not enough, especially for scene names. Is there any problem to allow users use 255 chars for both of names?
It is available but not on all.
here are the release notes; http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/articles/1707649-ui7-▾-general-availability-release-▾-version-7-0-1-1-7-374-▾-sep-28-2014
As posted on Facebook http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/articles/1707649
Upgrading from 1.7.318 to 1.7.374 wasn’t disastrous.
After the update there were about 20 phantom devices, all child devices of my generic webcams (!) and types I’ve never had in my house such as Z-Wave smoke sensors. I deleted them and they stayed deleted.
“Add another” for plugins has returned.
I have some very old Aeon Labs inline switches which don’t respond to “User Configuration” events. Annoyingly, these devices will now fail to configure, unless I delete the VariablesSet list of parameters, which Vera insists on repopulating after a Luup restart. Turning off auto-configuration, then deleting the VariablesSet variable, then manually reconfiguring, seems to be sticking.
Plugins all appear to be behaving properly.
I upgraded from the RC version with no issues. The advanced editor is a welcome add to help get us closer to where we were. Nothing earth shattering for me though.

Hi All,
I’ve also upgrade to the lastest version, and I’ve seem to’ve lost 1 half of a “Z-Wave Fibaro Inbouwschakelaar 2x1,5kW” switch, I can only control 1 of 2 build in switches. The second one has disappeared from my devices???
I also have another dual switch with a problem → “Z-Wave Qubino Flush 2 Relais”, this one is still available in devices, but I can only turn it off, I can not turn it on anymore.
Any1 seen this behaviour after the upgrade?
thanks,
Stefan
I have problem with fibaro 2 switch too
Is it perhaps a solution to restore the backup from just before the upgrade?
Is there a Veralite professional among us, who can tell this
Thanks
I am still waiting to see if the Notification tab is gone forever on Devices.
If it is I will add the ability to generate notifications to the Vera Alerts plugin.
I can reuse the PLEG trigger editor to create Notifications for Vera Alerts.
I think the scene editor in UI7 is a step backwards so I will NOT be using it for PLEG actions.
I have my own design. Hope to release late this week.
I just installed a Vera3 with Kwikset lock and 3 light switches this weekend and all work well. (Sometimes the Vera Mobile on my Galaxy Note3 takes multiple tries to access the server so I’m hoping the other VeraUI7 app will be better) I currently have UI5 Firmware V.1.5.622. I clicked on the Firmware Update but it says that I already have the latest version which is obviously not true. How / where do I get the latest Version?
I would be interested to know if the UI7 works fine with the mios_rfxtrx plugin,
Im using the USB RFX Transmitter to control tubular motors for my roller shades,
Thanks,
Yes, got the rfxtrx433e working with the latest files from trunk.
I still don’t see the firmware in my vera. Given all the other bugs I’m having, it wouldn’t surprise me if I’m having a bug with this as well.
Is there a direct download link that I can grab the new firmware from?
Wish I checked this board before stupidly clicking and getting the “upgrade”. Fortunately my Vera 3 is my second Vera that I had just started setting up since it seems to no longer want to talk to the Aeon appliance model I had been test apps with since the “upgrade”. Or the switch I was going to add (along with several others) this weekend. Deleting and repowering did not help. Doing a restore seems to have done nothing (same firmware number showing and device still missing). Guess I’ll have to set aside yet more time to see if I can get this thing to talk to anything. Was about ready to send it back just from feature loss from my VeraLite with UI6 but I found a couple things, like being able to login local in UI7, that I liked so I thought I’d try a bit longer but I am getting REALLY frustrated that the interface is so unstable and STILL not as easy to use as my 20 year old Timecommander home controller last updated in 1996. So much so I’m starting a comparison sheet between the controllers I have. Timecommander, Smart Things, VeraLite, Vera 3 and ISIS. And Wigwag if it ever arrives. Seriously guys you should have more in your favor than Z-wave is less glitchy than X10.
Is there an Official answer of MIOS regarding the latest upgrade? or are we the only 4 people experiencing some blocking issues with our beloved device?
Any moderator available to provide an answer please?
I own the Vera 3 for under a month w/ only minimal Z-Wave devices. Should I upgrade the firmware? Would it makes the refreshing quicker?

You need to open a support ticket, plain and simple. MCV does not constantly monitor or moderate these forums. These forums are predominantly for user to user communication.
