Hello, so I’m new to the alarm world and I need help I just had a Vivint system installed and hate it so I going to have it ripped out asap but I need a system to put in its place. My cousin has Vera running his whole house but there is no central mo monitoring with his system and I really what that feature, my question is way alarm package can I install myself that would be able to talk to Vera and give me central monitoring capabilities? My house came with an alarm system that uses z-wave window and door sensors so I would love to keep them since they still work well( Vivint is currently using them). I would also love to have a screen live Vivint uses to run as much of the system as possible, I will be adding cameras and lighting controls and hopefully at some point amazin echo to run the whole house. I will be doing the install myself and would like a system that is extremely user friendly. I really appreciate and help anyone can give me. Also while I’m asking what security cameras will work best and but still give ma excellent resolution.

Your Z-Wave door and window sensors as far as I know will not work with a dedicated alarm panel such as our DSC systems. Can you verify that the sensors are indeed Z-Wave or a similar frequency like these that are dedicated for alarm systems. http://www.discoverecolink.com/pro-security/
As you can see they make different sensors for alarm panels vs Z-Wave and different sensors for different makes of alarm panels.
I would be surprised if an alarm panel was using Z-Wave sensors.
What make is your current alarm, prior to the Vivnt?
