Just a heads-up. Monoprice has added several new products (since last I checked). If any of you try some out, please report back with your experiences.
Wow. I was looking at some of their Z-wave stuff yesterday and did’t see all that.
I’ve only tried their Door & Window sensor, but it seems okay.
Who’s making this stuff for them?
Likely the same people who make it for others…for instance, the lamp dimmer looks EXACTLY like the schlage lamp dimmer. The Motion sensor is the same as another companies and the window/door sensor I believe is just like the Schlage one as well.

thanks I bookmarked them , looks like pretty good prices. What would a shock-detector be useful for?
From their description:
This sensor detects the vibrations made by an intruder trying to break into a window or door When triggered, the sensor sends a wireless Z-Wave alarm signal, which can be used as a simple alarm or as a trigger to activate or perform other functions, such as illuminating a spot light on the subject area. It also has a tamperproof switch, which causes a different alarm signal to be sent when triggered. The sensor’s sensitivity can be adjusted, so the system can be configured to ignore spurious vibrations, such as those caused by a passing car with a too-loud stereo system.

The door/window sensor is made by Vision and is more or less identical to the Ecolink one.
The garage door sensor looks like the Ecolink one as well.
The dimmer and lights switch look like Jasco products.
Unsure who’s the curtain ones are but they sure look interesting.
The glass break sensor also looks interesting and I’m wondering if Vera supports it. This would be great for the living area as I can’t use a motion sensor due to my dogs.
They don’t appear to have scanned and posted the manuals yet like they do for their other zwave products.
Update: I had to order some other stuff from MP so I threw one of these new shock sensors in my cart. Lets see what UI7 thinks about them. I hope to get my order by Saturday.
More than likely not since “instant status” in Z-wave devices is patented by Lutron, with Leviton and Cooper the only manufacturers (that I am aware of) licensing it.

seems like some manufacturers found a way around it, for example the Enerwave Z-Wave in-wall dual relay and the Aeon Labs in-wall micro switches both support instant updates.

Sure it’s not just being polled? Is the instant status updating feature documented anywhere in their literature?
The patent probably covers the use in light switches and those micro controllers and relays are possibly excluded. I use an appliance switch (GE) for my floor lamp and it does instant status just fine

What you are experiencing is a Vera trick using a NIF that makes it seem to have Instant Status in specific use cases. The subject has been discussed on this forum many times.
As @capjay indicated, there are other devices that support a more true Instant Status(Z-Wave Hail) such as Aeon labs micro switches parameter 80.
This is an illusion. If the device has a direct route with the controller, minimal Z-wave network traffic, etc, it can appear as instant status. This has been discussed in the forums before.
That shock sensor intrigues me. Looking at the manual and the pictures, it has the ability for an external sensor. I wonder how something like a piezo sensor would work. I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to put something that big on all of my windows. Has anyone already ordered one yet? If not, I might pick one up in a few weeks and test it out.
Very strange. I have both the enerwave and aeon microswitches with polling disabled (0) and they report status to Vera <second. What is instant status?
As stated in an earlier post, I have a shock sensor on order and expected to get it yesterday. But MP screwed up my order. Status says shipped but the tracking# shows a shipping label created on 3/4 and nothing since. Waiting on a response from their customer service as to what is going on.
I saw the same thing with my order last week. If you log in to your account on their website there’s another link to track your order. I want to say they used UPS home delivery, which means UPS delivers it to your local post office, then your mail carrier finishes the delivery. It’s a little silly how it works, but my door/window sensors arrived on schedule still.
Eh, I never worry about when my MP stuff comes in. I just leave it as a little surprise that one day shows up…LOL. Amazon is a different story. I expect that to show up when they say it will (Paying Prime member here)
