Goal: To allow Vera to view the camera images and provide limited recording control iSpy Camera Server for the commands: record, recordstop, and alert.
First - Install and Configure iSpy:
1 Install iSpy Server
2 Determine what Camera # your using in the iSpy Camera Window Title.
3 Verify from ANOTHER PC THAN YOUR iSPY SERVER that you can connect to your iSpy server live feeds and view a JPEG in your browser. Fix any firewall or connection issues before proceeding.
Note - Keep all question regarding steps 1-3 on the iSpy forum as I’m not really an expert on the program.
Second:
1 Upload the 3 attached files in Apps > Develop > Luup Files (no need to restart, yet)
2 Go to Apps > Develop > Create Device with the Following Settings:
** Description: Camera Name
** Upnp Device Filename: D_iSpy.xml
** IP Address: YourIP:YourPort (i.e. “10.10.10.10:8080”)
** MAC: Camera # or OID (i.e. “4”) - Do not put the actual MAC of your iSpy server, just subistute the camera # for the MAC.
3 Click the Create Device button
Third
- Reload Vera twice
- You should be able to view your iSpy camera in Vera. You also should be able to start and stop recordings from Vera (i.e. when a Z-Wave motion sensor is tripped, start recording the local camera in iSpy) using the advanced tab of the camera in scenes (i.e. recordstop).
- Enjoy!
Note 1 - Create a new device for each camera in iSpy by adjusting the Description and MAC.
Note 2 - You may need a subscription for iSpy Connect to access these features LiveFeed. I haven’t tested without a subscription. Please let me know how it works for you.
