I have the Foscam Fi8910 Cameras that work fine in my system but now I am upgrading them to the new HD Fi9820W camera’s and I cannot get them to configure. Is there a trick to this or is this camera not supported yet? Let me know. I have followed everything in the guides and I still get “Camera Not Responding” even though the Fi8910’s are working. Any help would be greatly appreciated as these new cameras are definitely a big step up in clarity and detail. :o
Thanks,
Brett
A quick search on the forum brought up a few threads about this camera. I do not believe it is supported. Others are having issues integrating the camera and my understanding is that h.264 is not supported in vera.
You can view the FI9820W through Vera but features like pan and tilt and motion sensing won’t work. The H.264 cameras run a completely different software system then the MJPEG cameras.
Set-up the FI9820W just like you had your FI8910W with two changes:
- Instead of using “snapshot.cgi” as the URL use “tmpfs/snap.jpg” in the URL field.
- Change the ConfiguredMD field to -1. This tells Vera to disable the motion sensor (it doesn’t affect the motion settings in the Camera itself). If a seperate motion sensor was created for the camera, just go ahead and delete it.
You could technically remove I_FoscamPTX.xml from the impl_file field since the Foscam plug-in isn’t actually being used by this camera. I leave it attached in the hopes that someone with more skills and knowledge than me will get the plug-in working with Foscams H.264 line cameras. ;D
Linking to the plug-in board (with MCV statement).
But the archive function and remote or trough 3rd app view is working?
Thank you
