New firmware 1.5.622 and UPnP for Sonos

Does the new firmware change something regarding UPnP automatic discovery and registering to UPnP events ?

yes it does, it changed to using name of device for instance

I don’t know if it is new or if I never noticied it before, but my Sonos device now appears in the “AV Gear” tab. When I click on the Control icon, nothing happens. What should happen ?

I tried again “Add device => UPnP device”. The interface is absolutely not clear. You have to check “Scan …” the first time, ok, and few minutes later you have to come back and this time uncheck “Scan …” and push Continue. I am not sure at all that I had the idea to do that during my previous tries !

So I was finally able to display all the UPnP devices that are listed by Device Spy but I don’t know if it is new or not.
I was even able to add Sonos devices. But then what ? It appears as a geneic devices in the dashboard with no way to control it.

At best you can control such devices through the Advanced tab of the scene editor. There won’t be any user interface because it isn’t part of the UPnP spec.

More likely Vera will fail to usefully import the foreign device, because of bugs in the MiOS UPnP client implementation.

I tried again and there is nothing you can control in the advanced tab of a scene for these devices.

it needs a device and implementation file.
the idea is to connect these to the found UPnP device with a plugin.
it works since it adds device. it does nothing since it got no related device files. you can press wrench though and add the d_ and i_ and l_ files for it.
the remote icon goes to website for configuring remote control. since it doesnt have a proper device file this fails.
its part of the new implementation for AV devices in march last year.
turn off all UPnP devices that you want discovered and set auto-discovery UPnP on and reboot vera
in turn turn all other network UPnP devices on after vera rebooted.
wait for at least 10 minutes… make that 30 or 60 even.
then go to the tab for add UPnP and press next.
only thing we have to find out is how to connect device files to UPnP device

Any news regarding the event registration ?
