New error appearing with Foscam cameras

Hi All,

I am using my Vera with Foscam cameras both Wifi and POE. When I select cameras from Vera menu on the left hand side I see a representation of all three of my cameras with what is current views. When I click on the one of the cameras WiFi or POE In get the following error:

“You are seeing the video in emulation mode. The camera doesn’t support or has trouble loading up the continuous streaming. You can try to load it again by clicking Retry or you can click Close and continue watching it as it is” (see screenshot).

When I close the message the display seems to work fine. but it doesn’t appear to actually be streaming, when I look a myself sitting at my desk and move the the streaming is horrible, it like a bunch of stills images strung together.

I am running a Vera Lite UI7 with firmware 1.7.760. I am using the VistaCam PT&HD IP Cameras Version 3.0 plug-in and I am running Foscam cameras that are stated as being compatible with the plug-in.

Has anybody else seen this and is there a fix or workaround for this issue? I know streaming support isn’t Vera’s strong suit, but it was working before, so it not like it has never worked correctly.

From what I was able to find on the forum this appears to be a bug in earlier firmware releases, but was supposedly corrected in .730, not not for me apparently.

Thanks

Gordon

Hello owensct, have the same VeraLite system with firmware 1.7.760. Getting the same error message on my Foscam, HIKVision and Amcrest cameras. Do a search and you will find others with same issue. I am not sure what is causing it but, guessing Vera is trying to get system ready for something like true streaming from cameras instead of quick display of stills to produce a form of video.

Have not seen official response from Vera so, all we can do is wait and hope next upgrade fixes the problem.
