New "Energy Monitor" Plugin

There is a new plugin in the mios marketplace called “Energy Monitor”

Is this the long talked about interface to the TED5000 that has been in development? Or is it an interface to the new Aeon Labs zwave energy monitor?

Anyway… I installed it… but I don’t know what it did. I don’t see any new devices or menu options… how do we use it?

Yes, I do have a TED5000 installed.

No, it’s not a TED interface. It monitors energy usage your devices.

If you have any supported current meter, it will track the values it reports, calculating average and peak usage.

For other devices, such as on/off switches and light dimmers, if you enter the nominal wattage, it will track the time it’s on, or the intensity of the lights to get the same results: average and peak usage for each device.

All this info is available for you at the findvera.com site, click the “energy” link and you’ll be able to see your usage patterns.

Javier,
Is the TED interface still in development, I remember cj mentioned it was going to be released in the next version which was a looong time ago

Yes it is. In fact, I have it here and ‘seems to work’; but i’m having hardware problems so can’t really test it yet. Hope to clear those soon.

Good Luck, the powerline communications of the ted5000 are finicky at best, especially in a tech savvy household with computers and battery backups… the whole reason why i left x10 and insteon behind. Either way, I found a location where it works reasonably well, but it took awhile and a lot of frustration to get it there. Look forward to giving it a shot when its put in the marketplace.

Are there any plans for supporting the Aeon Energy Monitor?

Thanks
