Hello, I am having some issues connecting using my vera mobile or home buddy app. With that being said, the system has been up and running for almost 2 years. I recently had to change my router and modem and have since forgot how I got it working before. Forwarding port 80 to the vera is out of the question because it is blocked by my isp. I can choose a different external port and forward it to 80 and that works fine for browser access. If I try to login to cp.mios.com it recognizes the unit and has the right ip address but will never connect to the dashboard. It will also not work in any app as you only use the login for remote access. What updates the cp1.mios.com server as to what external port I am using?
There is no port forwarding with Vera. Vera establishes an outbound SSH session to the Micasaverde servers.
Did your network’s addressing change with teh router and modem?
Can you reach the Vera console locally? Go to Setup → Network & Wifi → Troubleshoot Network.
Does it pass all the tests?
FYI, you should never ever open up ports on your firewall to vera, unless you know what you are doing. You are leaving the doors to your home wide open!

When I go to troubleshoot network everything is okay except it says gateway fail. My gateway is of course my router which is 192.168.1.1. I have my connection configured where I tell it that it connects to the internet through a gateway. Like I said before if I login to cp.mios.com it is seeing my device and has the right IP but it will never connect.
I am having the same trouble with Vera Mobile and Home Buddy. I also can’t connect over the web via cp.mios.com . I have been able to for the past few years as well. I haven’t changed my setup except that I added a door sensor yesterday, but after I got it hooked up it was working remotely for the rest of the day. I wonder if Mios is having issues with its forwarding servers?
What type what is the make and model of your router? Have you altered its configuration or is it stock?
Netgear wnr2500 is the make, all is stock except a ddns entry and a couple port forwards. The only thing I can think of being different is that I had enable ipsec tunnel passthrough on my old router but do not have that option with this one.
Sorry, I’m not at all familiar with that make/model. IPSec configuration should not affect Vera. Vera establishes an SSH tunnel out of your network to Micasaverde’s servers on port TCP 232?(I can’t remember for sure.)
What ports have you forwarded?
Is Vera using a static IP or one assigned by DHCP?
I’ll assume that you have power cycled the Vera.
It has a static ip. Yes I have powered cycled it. I have reset the network settings to default and then reassigned a new static ip. I can login on my local network fine. It is so strange that the servers see it but will not connect to it. It will try but just say server busy through the cp.mios.com site. In the mobile app it will login and find my vera and then say connection failed. I have even tried using the secondary servers but no luck. I am going to try using a different router I guess. I just have twonport forwarded to a couple dvrs in the 9000 range.
My remote access (mobile and web) started working today without any changes on my part. Probably just some trouble with the Mios servers.
