Network Neighbors for Trane T-stat

I recently added two Trane TZEMT400BB32MAA t-stats on my Vera2 network. Both show my Vera unit as their only network neighbor, and Vera has no data on their manufacturer (see image). One unit is relatively close to my Vera, however, the other one has several nodes between it and my Vera (light switches), with one switch is less than 6 feet away. I’ve tried to heal the network, but they only ever list my Vera unit as their only neighbor.

Vera seems unable to accurately show their temp or manually control them. I do not have them assigned to any scenes, but have a notification event when the temp goes out of range (too hot or too cold). I randomly get notifications, but when I inspect the units, the temp is fine, it is just that Vera has reported an incorrect temp…probably due to communications failure. Today, Vera told me the temp was 167 degrees, even though the unit said it was 73.

Should these units be able to see other nodes on the network? The t-stats are 24v powered, but Vera tells me it needs to wait unit they wake up when I try to poll them. Has any one else experienced similar problems?

The Trane thermostats should be able to see other nodes near by. Have you tried doing a “Configure node right now” in the Thermostat’s settings tab?

I had previously tried that, with no success. I ended up removing them and adding them again…now they do see all other nodes. However, there is still no data from the manufacturer and the periodically do not communicate the current temp with Vera as I get bogus notifications of the temp being out of range even though the t-stat shows it within range. I’ll keep monitoring them for a few more days to see if the bogus notifications continue.
