I am trying to decide between a Trane (on sale at amazon for $84 or the Nest, considerably more expensive at $250. Any opinions? Also is installing either equally easy/complicated. Also any features Ill miss on on or the other ? Ill appreciate any input , thanks ???

I’ve had both, and currently run Nest. They both perform the same technical function very well but I get a much higher WAF on the Nest (see my post in the listing above). There was also a time that the Nest Generation 1’s were on sale for < $200, not a huge discount, but these are what I have (I don’t need the Gen 2 featureset)
In my case, my wife actually uses it locally, and remotely, whereas she won’t/wouldn’t use Vera nor the Tranes.
I too had Tranes and now have Nests (v2). Both work great. WAF much higher for Nest.
