Has anyone found a way to enable the alarm on the Nest when a sensor is tripped?
To the best of my knowledge know of the smoke detectors allow for that. I have First Alerts and that would be helpful from all of them. There are a number of siren/strobes available.
Nest hasn’t exposed their Nest Protect motion sensor via their API. We’re on generation 2 of these devices and there is still no mention of them ever exposing it. I ended up purchasing Aeotec 6 in 1 sensors and mounting them in the ceiling. They work great but I really wished I could have spared myself the expense and avoided cutting holes in the ceiling but in the end I’m pleased with the results. I have 5 sensors providing me plenty of information (the 6th is a tamper trigger which isn’t an actual sensor)…
Hope that helps…
Thanks guys. I ended up ordering the Aeotec Siren Gen 5. Which just arrived. Go Amazon Prime!
I’ve also got that siren, works really well… And yes, how did we ever live with Prime…
