I chose the Kwikset Smart Code Deadbolt lock over the schlage specifically because the Kwikset rep I spoke to told me very clearly that I would be able to buy the daughter card to make the system wireless later. This was important to me because I wanted to spread out the expense.
I am now ready to buy the daughter card, but now Kwikset tells me that they have scrapped that program. I am really upset about this, because I may have wasted my money and be back at square one.
I am hoping someone on this board might be able to direct me to somewhere that I could buy a daughter card. I realize the deadbolt is different, but I am not worried about that as I primarily want to be able to unlock the door and should I need to lock it, my door lines up with the jam 99.9% of the time.
I just found a place that sells the entire Lock including z-wave card for 60 on CL.
If you look for Z-Wave on Craigslist Orange County you will find it!
Wanted to contribute since I have been looking for this solution for the past year. I have the Kwikset 910 ZW SMT CP that did not have the Z Wave card. Spent hours researching and even discussing in detail with engineers at Kwikset. Funny, they told me that even if a card were released, there were pin incompatibilities and a daughter card wouldn’t work. I figured I had nothing to lose so I purchased the card recommended by frichter09 and it works great with my Vera 2. Just wanted to pass the info along.
mglover, did you buy a whole new lock from them or just the card? I had spoken to them at one point and they were supposed to get back to me with a price on a card by itself, but they never did. In the meantime, I found another source. If you did get a card by itself, out of curiosity, what did it cost?

I purchased just the daughter card. My builder installed the incorrect version without Z Wave radio. That is where I began investigating options and found the link above. The card was $99. I know I paid a bit more than the integrated solution but wanted the functionality.
