Can someone explain or point me information regarding adding devices to a VERA 2 with a battery not a dongle.? Thanks
I haven’t used the battery on mine. I either use the full power inclusion mode or use the supplied transformer to move the vera2 around and add a device. There are some documents at various locations (wiki, docs.mios.com) and here:

that give the basics. There should have been some paperwork in the box that talks about charging and using the battery as well.
I used the battery several times. Unplug both the power and ethernet, then plug the battery into Vera and turn on the power to the battery. Take Vera to within a couple feet of the device to be paired. Wait for Vera to finish booting up. Follow the normal pairing process by pressing the z-wave button on the back of Vera then pushing whatever pairing button is on the device (very often the on/off button). Repeat the pairing steps until all devices are paired. Turn off and unplug the battery pack then plug Vera into the power and ethernet. After boot up your devices should be available for configuration and use.
