Need help using I-Wave gear

Multiple Intermatic setup

pe653rc detected and installed (though I get 6 “switches” two control port #1)

pe953 detected and transitions to 31s slave mode but then I get a constant screen that does not display any of the temp etc data
screen is “learn mode” with options 1 4 and 5 or control option with 1-5 but I can not get to status screen.

p1353me detected as a single DIMMABLE switch, this is in mode 5 so should be 2 on/off switches. (p1353 is connected to a pe650 zwave antenna which has thermometer attached also not working on vera…)

I want to add a p4243 but I am not spending more until this works, anyone get any of these thing to work correctly in UI5? if so please let me know the step by step to get it going.

thanks

p

Good luck with getting them to work correctly with any version of the UI…

Yeah I read everything here, but I see several people state they have the remote atleast working (the pe653rc pretty much works ok)

Wasn’t at one time micasaverde giving a guarantee that anything zwave would work?

Well I placed a gauranteed compatibility support request and offered to loan my equipment to them, let us see if that gets the ball rolling. This is pretty sad, I may have to go (and tell my clients) to go to homeseer. The price difference has no benefit if it does not support the things we need/want.

Still waiting to here back from MCV on this, I can see in the logs errors and crashes when I add these units.

Zendick,

Ever get your PE653 working. I dont spend alot of time onthe forum, but i do have the PE653 / PE953 working at three locations with Vera UI4. Wasn’t simple to get it working but it can be done. I had to down grade the Z-Wave to 2.78, reset both the PE653 and the PE953, link the PE653 with the 953, add the 953 as a secondary controller, and the 653 with its child modules were added. Once it was up in Vera and the 953 could see the 653 i went back to Z-Wave 3.2

Hey NovaIceman,
Haven’t seen you here in a while. Did you ever get a Temp control solution working?

can you downgrade vera’s zwave version without resting your entire network?

Zendick, Yes you can go back to 2.78 without rebuilding your network.

Mcoulter, I created several virtual switches and scenes to control one of the outputs on the 653 that is wired to my solar valve. I have one switch that indicates when the Pump is On, One switch that indicates when the pool temp is less than my setpoint, and one that indicates when the outside temp is warmer than the pool. If all are true I open the solar valve. Took a while but it works. I started working on a Virtual Thermostat I created from a file I downloaded from @mciflorin. that will give me an easier way to change the setpoint.

And all of this will not be needed if MCV would create device that has all of the features of the 653/953 included…

Two years and still waiting.

Actually you can not downgrade from 3.20 to 2.78 without either having a backup of the z-wave dongle with a 2.78 firmware or resetting the z-wave network. The routing table for 3.20 is different than that of 2.78 and if you do downgrade and not have a z-wave dongle backup with a 2.78 firmware, you can have issues with pairing as well as routing issues.

garrettwp, good to know. Thanks, Can’t explain why it worked for me. I have done it a few times trying to get the Multiwave to work.

And MCV just logged in and did that for me as their ‘fix’ for my trouble ticket (I wanted to add the MultiWave to my system) and said there was no downside to do that…

Hi Andrew, You shouldn't encounter any issues when you downgrade the Z-Wave firmware to 2.78 with any of the units on the UPnP bridge. Could you please tell me the serial number of the unit? So that I may do the downgrade for you and make sure that it is done correctly.
