i dont really feel compfortable using my mios username and password in a URL to fetch device status via fwd*.mios.com since basically every machine in the chain (and some even not in the chain) will see/store/process it.

is it possible to have a additional user set up somehow via mios.com for some selected actions or maybe for read/only access ?

You can create new users; however, the security is just not there in defining access levels. You add them to the system and give them assign them as a guest (I am not looking at a system now). you can turn on local security but this is not real security and any 3rd app overrides it anyway. Are these machines local to vera or remote?

the “machines” i did refer to are widespread over the internet (routers, switches, modems, firewalls, proxy servers and so on)

i sorted this out with a ssh-tunnel connecting directly to my home network now.

With Https … all content on the URL past the hostname and port … are encrypted … nobody is going to see this data.
