I’m looking to produce a multi zone system as follows:
Each room would have - Multi Sensor for Temperature , TRV on the radiators and an associated Virtual Thermostat.
I would install a Z-Wave Secure Boiler Receiver HRT to turn the Pump on and off.
The only issue I have is how to make sure that pump is off when all Virtual Thrermostats are off and on if any of the Virtual Thermostats are below temperature ( on)
Could someone recommend a way of meeting the last item?
Your plumbing and boiler was likely not designed to run the system with the ability to turn off all radiators.
I understand all systems should have as mine does, a radiator close to the boiler which is always open.
As an aside, it would be nifty if someone had a “recipe” for a successful multi-zone HVAC using Vera… I’m starting to collect the pieces (trane controller, AON multi-sensors, etc) but haven’t put the whole thing together yet.
Look like I will have to plod on on my own here…
So the starter kit is:
1 x Secure SRT 321 - Thermostat for the lounge
1 x Secure ssR303 - Boiler Controller
1 x Stella Z TRVs for the lounge.
Following the Vesternet guide I have pair the Controller and the Thermostat -
I have written a PLEG to set the temperature of the SRT321 at various times of the day -
Struggling to get the SRT321 to open the valves at the same time as turning on the boiler. - Anyone got any clues on this?
I can’t see the variable that the SRT sets in Vera when heat is demanded, if I could I could use this as a trigger in PLEG
While it is running, check the thermostats advanced properties. I think the one you want is ModeState. I think the values are On and Idle but I could be wrong.
@brownbr how did you get on with this? Did you find a solution?
