I have got 2 Vera’s (one 3 and a lite) the Lite is located near my gate and is very hard to reach, also no internet there.
My doorbell setup is just finished and I want to install it near the gate. For the moment the device (Fibaro 3in1 sensor) is included in my house network (vera3) but needs to be included in my vera lite network. Since I can not reach the vera lite for the moment ( 1 meter ice and snow on top of it), is there a way to move this device from the master vera to the slave vera via my computer?
??? So Vera Lite is not on the internet, but is on your LAN? Or in addition to no physical access, there is no LAN access to Vera Lite either? (The Z-Wave chip inside Vera Lite will somehow need to be told about the Fibaro sensor.)
oTi@: Oh yes,the vera lite is hooked up on the internet and I have full controll over it… but I don’t have wifi near my gate, I cannot hook my computer on, since it is all burried under a meter of snow :-s
When I want to do it from my house and select “include” I only have 2 minutes … impossible to run or drive that distance within the 2 minutes :-s The only way I can think of is with 2 persons , 2 celphones and do it together , one at the computer , one at the the vera lite.
But I was hoping I can just move the device via the internet to the other vera…somehow
As you know, you need to have the node within range of the Vera to include it.
You could get internet access at the gate somehow, possibly a 3G connection for your laptop? Or, you could use an assistant with a cellphone. The latter is probably the cheapest and most straightforward method.
The easiest wau is than with 2 persons , 2 cellphones, and work together… I was just hoping with the flick of a switch to be able to move the sensor from the master vera tpo the slave vera…
Try including through [tt]Add Devices[/tt] > [tt]Advanced Z-Wave devices[/tt] > [tt]Add[/tt] > Set the timeout to something suitable, then hit [tt]Go[/tt].
I just tried on a Vera Lite with the timeout set to 10 minutes, and attempted to include a device after 9 minutes or so. Seemed to have worked.
