I just added an Ecolink PIR motion sensor and I’m getting notifications every time it triggers. I didn’t set the device or the scene to notify me though. Anyone know what do do/where to look to stop these notifications?
Dashboard > My Modes > Who should be notified ?
Or, if you want notification for some things or maybe when you are only in away mode, then set the motion sensor to be in bypass for all modes except away mode. Notifications are only sent if the sensor is in the armed state (it still detects motion and can trigger scenes etc when in the bypass state).
I think this was my issue with a Camera and motion sensor as well.
I had experimented with notifications, and then had them turned off but it continues to send me notifications until I reach the limit I set.
I thought I needed the motion sensor armed in order to trigger the scenes having the camera take snapshots or video but I will try this and hopefully fixes my issue as well
If you want a lot more flexibility you might want to look at Vera Alerts. There are nice ways to customize the notifications. And even tricks audio and photo alerts
It looks like futzle’s answer is what I need. Not tested yet but it looks like that setting alerts whoever is listed anytime any armed sensor is triggered. It looks like turning that off will stop it but I can still get notifications for the things I have set specifically.
