Motion sensor causes UI7 to send notification... how do I stop that?

Such a noob question, I’m embarrassed to even ask. But, what’s causing this? I just added the Ecolink PIR sensor. It’s in test mode. If it detects motion with the dashboard showing the device as ‘disarmed’, no problem. If I put it in ‘armed’ mode, my inbox/sms goes nuts.

The device itself has no notifications. Is there a global setting that I’m missing?

  1. Goto the Dashboard
  2. Goto MyModes
  3. Check what you have set for:
What to do if an armed sensor trips?

This was all intro for Vera getting into the Alarm system space.
They assume every Armed Sensor that triggers is a security threat … And NOT a home automation input.

As usual, Richard, you’re my hero. Thanks. Not terribly intuitive. You’d think they’d link to that page from any of the device notification pages or alert page.

Much appreciated.

@erkme73

Did you try this solution, and are the alerts also gone?
I have the same problem with my Visonic sensors, and stayed at old firmware (619)

Egbert, it most certainly did fix the issue. No more emails at all, whether the sensor is armed or disarmed. Once you get to the proper page as Richard described it, it’s actually quite intuitive. Getting to the page when you don’t know it exists, is the real challenge.

I think the other thing to think about is, when do you want your sensor armed or not (which is also set on the modes page). The sensor will detect motion in either state, and since you can build scene automation to look for motion/no motion in either state, you really only need to arm the sensor if you want it to signal additional automation when it is in the armed state (like notifying you it has been tripped, or trigger a siren).

I knew about the settings of the modes page.
I also disabled the notifications to all users include myself, and the notifications are gone.
But there still is a problem :
I set in my Home mode that all my alarm sensors are disabled and NOT armed when using Home.
In this situation after i put my mode to Home the sensors do not give an alert after tripped or untripped.
BUT, if my vera (lite) restarts or luup restarts (after an update fom a plugin or a new setting) i still getting a lot of alerts from my sensors.
Then i have to set my house mode again to Home and problem is solved.
So bij default the sensors are all armed before setting a mode is used, and then i got alot of alerts!

(As all my Visonic/powermax alarmsensors are working direct to my alarm i dont need the integration in the house modes)

Oh my this is what drove my wife almost to madness last Friday, every time she moved the alarm sound started making lost of noise.
So i reverted back to UI5
