motion sensor arm and disarm issues

Can someone please help re: motion sensor and the config and status json files.
I can easily see how to turn a light on and off and get the current state from
the config and status json files. I am having trouble with motion and other
sensors re: armed and bypass settings. I can easily get the state of “triggered”
but do not see a state for “armed” and “bypass”. Is there one? If so how do
I send an html command to “arm” a sensor and how do I get the status of “armed”
or “bypassed”? Sorry if this is in the docs, I just can’t find it or figure it out?
