I have heard this from at least one other, for unknown reasons 3 of my 7 HSM-100’s has only 1 neighbor in the device tab after they had 4-6 each when configured, I know this for sure as I removed and readded all my devices when this happened in the past, a couple weeks later without changing anything in the network those 3 have “lost” all neighbors except 1, what the heck ???
After reading your post, I checked mine. I have 3 and each of them has only one neighbor. I don’t know when this happened.
Maybe it happened when I moved Vera back to the other end of the house to be close to my Schlage lock. (I never could get the lock to work with the Schlage lamp modules. Over the space of a month, I only received one entry email notification. Now, with Vera close by, the lock works perfectly.) After moving Vera, I “Repaired” my network. That might have undone the neighbor relationships of all my HSM100s.
When I get home tonight, I’ll put each HSM100 on top of Vera’s case for a couple of hours and then move it back to its normal position. That always sorts them out for me.
it seems so bloody random, 2 of the problem units are close to Vera and 1 not, 2 have 1 neighbor listed and one has none at all yet is working correctly, stranger still, I dared to do a “repair my network” (which mangled my network the last time) being careful to uncheck the infamous “reconfigure when done” option and one of the three found neighbors, but when I checked an hour later they were gone again #@&()_*%^
Just FYI - I haven’t seen neighbors list being reliable or consistent and it’s empty most of the time for me, still Z-Wave works just fine.
Thanks much for that denix, so you think it’s not worth persuing? As you say mine seem to be functioning properly regardless
MCV can you weigh in on this?
Comment:I have run “repair my network” (always unchecking the dreaded reconfigure when done box) multiple times and each time some HSM-100’s that had complete neighbor list will loose it and others that didn’t have it will gain it, as previously mentioned the neighbors list may also disappear at random over time leaving just one or in one case none at all (sensor still worked)
related question: is there a way to do what “repair my network” does but only for a certain node without affecting the rest of the network? I wasn’t sure exactly what the “stress test” button does at the bottom of an expanded single device window or how about single device expanded>advanced>reset device, anyone know exactly how these behave?
after yet another “repair my network” and futher observation it seems it does matter what neighbors are listed, at least on this test it is precisely the sensors with only 1 neighbor listed (when there are many neighbors near each sensor) which are unreliable, some times not “tripping” and other times not “untripping” after they have tripped, when I manually removed and re-added those they had appropriate neighbor updates and reliable function, I will watch them to see if/when the neighbors disappear, guess I will now rebuild my scenes for the umpteenth time!
Hi Paul,
I’ve asked Aaron to take a loot at your system.
Thanks mcvovidiu, if I can be of any help would be glad to run any desired experiment
I know there’s lots of drama going on with the new UI but here’s an update on the problem from this thread, it’s been about three weeks since my last post when all was working well (after reinstalling a few sensors) and just noticed that the neighbors have again disappeared from 1 of my seven sensors (last post it happened to 3 of them) during that time no system changes had ben made, submitted another trouble ticket though I’ve had no response from the first one yet except the comment previous in this thread, I understand why some folks here begin to wonder if there is anyone listening
