Monster/Leviton clearance

I got this alert last night, but just got a chance to look at it this morning.

http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2995711

The dimmers are out of stock, but I ordered 2 of the scene controllers for about $45 delivered.

Hopefully, I can get them to work with Vera.

Just bought 6 of the scene controllers, no tax in Massachusetts (go figure), free shipping over $100. we’ll see how they work. It’s nice they are 120V powered, no batteries to go dead, but you do need to find a 1 gange box to mount them in with power.

Bought 6 here as well. Someone tell me this works with Vera 8) 8)

Just bought 3…now I’m worried :-\

of course they will work with Vera, they are older Levition 4 button scene controllers rebranded…

So I can set these up to activate a scene when a button is pressed? Please bear with my lack of knowledge.

Yes, that is how scene controllers work. You setup a scene, and then set 1 of the 4 buttons as a “trigger” for that scene.

Great! Thanks.

So does this also have a dimmer attached? As in 4 scene controlling buttons and a regular dimmer so I can just replace a regular dimmer with this? I’m not really clear on what the dimmer function of this module is.

This is just what I’ve been looking to get.

there is no “switch” with this, its just a scene controller… the 5th button on the scene controller is a bright/dim button, for adjusting the brightness/dim level of a scene.

FYI, there is a lot of this listed on eBay as well:

I just picked up two of these as well, they will be my first scene controllers. The banner on slickdeals implies that these are compatible with the AVL 300 remotes. I wonder if this may give me true integrated scene control from my AVL?? (prior scene control is either Vera scenes or remote programmed independent scenes)

Just when you think you’re slowing down on your Z-Wave purchases something like this comes up. I’m in on the deal, for more than I need as usual. Thanks for the heads up, Leviton Scene controllers were the one thing missing from my set up, mostly due to cost.

Something has to be too good to be true about deals like this, but since the RS sale I’m a believer in every day overstock liquidation.

edit: @Intrepid, how do get these alerts? Are you using Google Alerts or something with Slickdeals?

Exactly the same situation for me as well. I picked up way more than I need, but can really picture these being very useful (especially for the wife).

Love Z-Wave clearances. Now, if someone could just make energy monitoring 240V line thermostats and outdoor motion sensors… and then put them on clearance!

sign up for an account on slickdeals.net. there is a ‘keyword alert’ setting from the user cp. set up ‘z-wave’ with instant email for the hot deals forum.

slickdeals is one of the more active deals forums out there. i’ve been using it for years. That’s actually how I found out about the Radio Shack clearance…and how I ended up here.

I thought I’d bought all the stuff I’d needed, but somehow I’ve ended up with a scene controller that I didn’t really need either

Damn. Not available to Canadian customers. What a pain!

Hmm, takes long time to deliver. I wish those dimmers weren’t out of stock, but couple scene controllers aren’t bad either…

Has anyone else noticed monster reversing the charge then charging it again? (via paypal?) That is a ‘frozen’ transaction in a bank account I am trying to close!!

I’ll have to check Paypal and see if there is anything weird, but it may be too late as I just tracked my enormous box of scene controllers and they have been delivered today. I can’t wait to get one installed so I’m not relying on the iPhone so much.

I was going to install mine on Saturday but never got round to it.

Hmm, my 2 only arrived today. Need to decide now where to install them
