Monoprice Motion Detector w/temp - Can't detect device error, but works ok...

Hello, I ahve two Monoprice 10796 Z-Wave Motion Detector w/ Temperature Sensor , I had problems at the begining (last month) getting the temperature part to work , however Vera’s exceptional support resolved the issue for me via remote access to my controller. A couple of days ago, I noticed one of the devices show this error: Can’t Detect Device . However both motion and temperature continue to work fine. I have reset the controller and the error is still there. Any ideas on what could it be?

There are 2 possibilities…

  1. You have the poll interval value for the device wrong (The “Wakeup Interval” and “Poll this node once every” value on the settings page)… Values that work well (in my specific instance) are 3600 and 0.
  2. The battery in the sensor is marginal and should be replaced… The Battery level report in the UI is VERY unreliable…

OK… changes settings, woke-up by opening cover and presto ! Seems to be working fine now.

I have an similar problem with my camera. Works OK but shows communication error. Any idea why ?
