Monoprice Garage Door Sensor Stays Tripped (UI5)

I just installed the sensor, and it showed up as a motion sensor that has stays tripped once initially opened. I can’t seem to do much about it not.

I’ve looked over the threads, and I’m not the first to have this problem. There seems to be a known issue that was fixed with UI7, but I’m on UI5, and don’t plan on upgrading.

I found a thread about changing the subcategory in from 3 to 1 in the device attributes. I tried that, to no avail. I also saw some more heroic attempts to re-designate the motion sensor into a more appropriate door sensor. I’m not sure why it shows up as a motion sensor.

Question: anyone else with UI5 had this issue, or is it just me?

Did you just installed it or was it working fine before?

I have the same sensor which I installed a couple weeks ago and it’s been working fine in UI5. When it first paired, i thought I had issue but turned on that I had to keep the battery lid closed in order for it to trigger.

Got it worked out. I excluded/included the sensor, and when I did so, I realized it was installed upside down. It’s all working now – still shows up as a motion sensor, but its behavior seems to do what I want.
