I’m looking at getting this setup for my Vera 3 to control. But as I think about it, do I really need the SQ blaster along with the monoprice? Would I just be doubling up the remote function by using a SQ blaster?
If I use the monoprice Vera plug in, I should only need the monoprice matrix switcher.
I can see the switching part covered. but what about power up and off of the various devices? Or controlling volume? How would I do that?
I will have a Dune Smart HD, Denon 2805 AVR, Denon 3805 C AVR, Panasonic AE7000 projector, 3 HD TV’s.
OK so you might need a blaster (SQ if you want multi channel control) for the other stuff then (you never mentioned those before )
The Denon receivers are not any of the newer ones with IP control, but might be compatible with @radarengineers plugin since it supports IP and RS232: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,5863.0.html
If not then you will need will likely need to control those via IR or use it as an excuse to upgrade to one with supported IP control
For the Panny projector, the protocol spec might be the same, or similar enough to @guessed’s Panasonic TV plugin, and so you could might get away with RS232, or IP/232 control for that perhaps!
What sort of TV’s do you have (brand and model #), and do you have any spare cat 5/6 or coax cable going to the them that you could use to run IR signals over?
I am going to use a monoprice 4x4 Matrix HDMI® Switch & Splitter over CAT5e/CAT6 , so I am running a pair of CAT 6 to each TV location. I don’t know if there is a spare pair left or not using the monoprice unit. Monoprice has little info on this switch/splitter but I assume it will work. I also will get a couple og HDMI to component video converters from monoprice.
My other TV’s are a Hi Sense LED 32K16 (has an RJ-45), and a Hi Sense Anyview 48" HDTV (no HDMI in/out) but has everything else (VGA, DVI, RS-232).
The third TV has yet to be determined.
