I’m using MiMOlite to control and electronic gate. I’m trying to run a scene to shut everything down and close the gate. But in PLEG actions or in a scene you can’t select and action with this plugin.
I’m soon going to have 3 different garage doors here also on MIMOlites too, which I’ll want to run in the scene.
Anyone have any ideas?
This plug in shares a open/close button is that why there is no possible action?
I really can’t say, but I came across a similar thing with another plugin.
It wasn’t developed let’s say ‘perfectly’ and therefore it didn’t present properly, and PLEG couldn’t see it.
It was HomeWave Push notifications. Once I got the right info from Richard, the developer of Homewave reacted and included the revision in the update.
Thanks for the info, the creator of this app is MIA and has been asked many times about another problem that never got fixed. If you have any info on how to get a work around going please let me know.
Have you considered switching to Richard’s Garage Door App?
I have not nor without guidance know how to use Luup code yet. I am assuming this might be the way to do it, but need guidance.
I use almost everything Richard Builds, and I did consider it at one time, but (stupid of me) didn’t use it because of the Mios icons showing lock and unlock vs. the nice garage door.
Well ofcourse in the apps which is about all we use it really don’t matter so I really should switch.
The only reason I don’t switch now is because the electric gate has a sensor in the floor and on the gate to tell it when it’s opened and the sensor I had to use is backward from normal configuration. I would need to rewire the sensor (was a 3 wire contact) to get it back to normal operation. This connection is buried and sealed in a concrete cut.
I’m assuming Richards Plugin might be about to reverse the contacts on software side but haven’t looked into it.
This reverse contact setting on the “MIMOlite Garage Door Plugin” has been an issue (one I mentioned earlier) the developer has not addressed and went MIA. Since I just wired it backwards its been out of sight out of mind and all is working until now :).
I don’t have that app, but if you post your advanced tab, we can get you the Luup piece you need to turn it on/off (open/close) and you can test it.
try?
Just a bunch of screen shots? It doesn’t show much in each shot.

Have you looked in the Advanced tab for a scene or PLEG action ?
Some devices/plugins do not have a UI for their action, but the actions available in the advanced tab.

Ohh Richard you always come threw with the simplest fixes. I didn’t even think of it, but yes your right as usual.
In the advanced tab I selected the device and select then “setTarget” and “newTargetValue” as “1”
With some PLEG I’ll have it check if the gate is opened first then try close if it is and recheck in 1 min to repeat if in case it didn’t close.
One more thing. I’m trying to use a Scene as a trigger in PLEG.
Under inputs I see #2 Scene controller
then it ask’s for a scene number which is 104 for me. But I never get that to show a trigger in the status log.
EDIT: Searching found me a post from over a year ago that says I can not use a scene as a trigger and to use a virtual switch in between if I want the connection. Has anything changed, is this still true?
