Hi guys, this is my first post here. I searched around and couldn’t find the answer to what I’m looking for, but please point me in the right direction if I missed it.
I’ve got a system with about 40 devices and am moving from Nexia to Vera3. I have a few questions:
Is there a fast way to un-enroll all my devices from the nexia network, or do I have to do them one at a time?
Is there a tool for quickly migrating my devices/settings to a vera3 (I doubt it!)?
+1 on Garrett’s advice. Unless the Nexia controller has the ability to transfer device info to a secondary controller. If it does, you could try setting up Vera as that secondary controller and transfer the device info. Then set Vera as your primary controller. I can’t guarantee this will work as there are a lot of factors involved, but it may be worth a try.
On Vera (UI5): Go to the Devices tab, then Add Devices. At th ebottom click on Add to the right of ‘Advanced Z-Wave devices’.
One of the options on the next screen is ‘Add Vera to another Z-Wave network’ and then I’d suggest ‘Controller Shift’.
I have no experience with the Schlage/Nexia controller so unable to point you in the right direction on that one.
Thanks a lot guys. I do think the nexia unit can copy data to a secondary controller so I may try that first.
However, I’m not happy with the way my current network of devices is running anyway (some long delays, missed signals, etc). Do you think it would be better to start fresh? Or does the Vera have a feature to “re-optimize” the network after I copy the data over?
