I successfully migrated my network from Vera2 to Vera3 yesterday, following the guidelines in this forum. Everything seems to be working fine, except I noticed that the Scenes for my 4 Trane Thermostats don’t have Triggers anymore.
No problem I thought, I just add the triggers again, but none of the Trane Thermostats are listed as available devices in under the trigger section?
The Thermostats are listed and working under devices. I 've also removed and re-added them to Vera, but they still don’t appear as available devices for triggers. Am I missing something or has this changed in UI5?
What I would like to accomplish is, to start a Fan when the Temperature goes above a certain value in the Trane and turn it off, when it goes below.
I bought these Tranes when RadioShack got rid of all their Z-Wave devices and I’ve been (ab)using them in my MediaCloset and even Attic to turn a few fans on and off with Scenes in Vera2 UI4.
Some releases of UI5 had a bug that prevented displaying devices in the trigger list. Please check your UI5 version (1.5.something) and tell us what it is.
I just found the problem… I had a duplicate luup file for the Thermostats which migrated from the old to the new Vera.
Deleted the duplicate files now, rebooted Vera and the Thermostats work fine now.
The duplicate luup file came from creating a Virtual Thermostat for the Everspring ST814 Sensor, which was suggested by Thorden in another post and was a workaround for Vera2 UI4 to get better reports from the device. It looks like the workaround is not needed anymore in Vera3 v1.5.408 according to oTi@ in the same post later and it messed up my other non-virtual Thermostats after the migration too.
I really appreciate this forum and thanks to all the guys for sharing their experience and solutions with Vera
