Max No of devices

You may want to look at the external antenna mod thread in these forums. For about $6 to $7 and 10 minutes of work you can improve the range/coverage of your Vera which may help with your response time concerns. Note, this mod, as easy as it is, will void your Vera warranty.

After I did it on mine nearly all my devices now talk directly to Vera instead of via other devices in the mesh and everything feels faster responding now. But do realize, battery powered zwave devices respond slower than mains powered ones.

Good advice, thank you! My place is small (think 1200 sq ft), the Vera is on top of a cabinet in the computer room, and my powered devices are EVERYWHERE, so I thought I would be OK (doing another HEAL now). It’s the battery powered devices (motion sensors) that have me concerned. When I activate a scene using my Minimote, the response is instant. If I walk into the room, the response is sluggish at best.

Mine is about the same size and Vera is on the one side of the house in my home office. Now even devices on the other side of the house connect directly. Including my door locks and garage door sensor. Which are battery operated.

I am planning to ran cat5 through the atttic and when doing so will most likely relocate Vera to a more central location. although with the antenna mod I seem to have 100% coverage of the house.
