I was looking at my Vera and couldn’t help but think… There are 2 USB ports and only one of them is used for the ZWave dongle, wouldn’t it be cool if the second port could be used for a MagicJack?

Unfortunately, for the purposes of this idea, I’m an IT admin as opposed to a programmer. However, I’ve done a little research and found that MagicJack can theoretically work under Linux.

Would any of you who are better at programming take a look? Does this seem like it might be possible?

i faintly remember other PC-to-Phone adapters that register themselves as a standard sound card, so there’s no need for strange device drivers.

the other part of the equation is processing power available… some voice codecs aren’t trivial to process.

Get PAP2T and register it using your MJ credentials

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the Magic Jack & Skype both working on a Cisco SPA3102??? It seems to be similar to the PAP2T but with legacy POTS (Plain Old Phone Service) add-in functionality.

I don’t have MJ, but I saw numerous recipes of how to extract MJ credentials and use it in PAP2T or SPA3102 which are generally the same thing. Just google, or check at dslreports.com voip or mj forums.
