Luup: downloading plugin 188 error in log

Whenever i reload my Vera, i get this message:

Luup: downloading plugin 188 and Luup: downloading plugin 5

i never really took any notice. Today i was looking at my log and seen this:

What does this mean ? What are plugins 5 and 188 ?

Plugin 5 is the generic Camera plugin.

http://apps.mios.com/plugin.php?id=5

If you forget how to get this URL … just open the description of any plugin in the APP store … and then change the number at the end.

188 appears to be illegal or proprietary.

You can find out where this is referenced by looking at the plugin parameter at the top of the advanced tab for a device. It may not be there … if it’s not from the App Store. You have to keep looking at devices until you find it.

If you have a good editor and know how to navigate json data you can extract this info from the user_data output from your machine:
http://Your.Vera.IP.Address:3480/data_request?id=user_data

@jackpot

Good hint with that thread. I will try that suggestion with deleting the hidden SQ Remote device. As i have the Sq plugin that might explain it and get rid of that error (and speed up my reboot times.
What i am not so sure about is this:

If i delete my cameras (which were a bit of a pig to set up…) i will have to recreate them ? Not sure i want to go through that again…

Yes, if you delete them. Also the underlying issues is creating the camera from the online process must still reference plugin 5. Do a manual backup for your own safety. Then goto the advance tab of the camera and remove the number 5 in the plugin variable . Save and restart.

As soon as SQ Remote connects to you Vera it will generate the same activity. This is a very benign start up activity. So as long as you use SQ remote it will keep returning…

@Brientim

I had the plugin 5 in my Foscam HD, deleted that and looks as if that message is gone now. My other (SD) Foscam has plugin 1978 so have not touched that. I am using the SQ plugin, if it will come back anyway i will live with that error / luup message.

In the SQ Plugin … just set the plugin parameter to blank in the Advanced tab.
That should disconnect it from the App store.

It looks as if that worked. The message about plugin 188 is gone. Just have to test the SQ plugin when i get back home. Strange though, in plugin it had 1248, not 188. Anyway, doesnt really matter as all i wanted is to clear that message and corresponding errors.

Thanks

That’s because 188 is the (hidden) SQRemote plugin. 1248 is the (visible) SQBlaster plugin.

Since the one you’d want to edit is hidden, there’s no way to edit it in the UI.

It dates back to a failed mechanism that MCV wanted to have remotes ‘register’ themselves in order to be able to connect/use the system. They eventually abandoned the technique, silently, and in UI5 they obsoleted 188 from the store… It would have created less issues if left it there, but it’s a benign error anyhow

The Luup: downloading plugin 188 has come back. If it is benign i wont worry about it. Have other more pressing problems now with my PLEG not working… (on another thread there) so will live with this tiny problem
