I like the Schlage motion detector… but I’d like to be able to narrow the detection range from -45/45 to something like -10/10. Is there a setting I can set? Or does anyone know of a way to deal with this? Was thinking of a hardware mod, but seems that that may not work…
The usual way is to put PVC tape on the lens to mask off the areas you don’t want detected.
Except that won’t limit the depth of field. Thinking I may use the tape method and mount the motion sensor on the baseboard under the cabinet…
Why wouldnt tape work?
I have modded PIR w paper and tape to get a narrow detection down a hallway only instead of underneath etc, works just fine. Even modded a outdoor sensor to trigger only on my door patch and ignore garage driveway, where i have another sensor. And the same sensor i tilted down greatly so i can keep the high sens but passers by on the road dont trigger it.
If you want less depth (range?), sensetivity?
