Logs On USB

Hello

I have attached a USB (1 GB) as said in :
http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Store_logs_USB

and after that checked “Store logs on USB device” on my vera
the Status is “enabled”

i have connected this USB to the computer to check if it is storing my logs. but the PC asked me to format the USB

How can I view logs stored in the USB using a PC?

Vera formats the USB device to ext3. To read it on Windows I recommend this: http://www.ext2fsd.com/?page_id=2

thank you i really accessed the file inside my USB

but I couldn’t understand anything
i just want to read logs about my door, if it was opened and when it did
i found too much codes which i couldn’t understand

You want to set up notifications then. In your device properties, there is a tab for setting up notifications. It can send sms or email or both.

actually that is my problem, i don’t have a stable internet connection
so i need to store it to a USB (external and Local storage) to view them later on
