I’ve been happily using my VeraLite UI7 for a month or so now with few problems, but I got some door/window sensors which I wanted to set up with notifications (either text or email) and I just can’t freaking figure it out! My logs aren’t logging ANYTHING except for the initial pairing. Subsequenly, I think that is why my notifications aren’t working either. I have my number and email address validated on my Vera but nothing ever happens no matter what notifications I set up with any device.
If anyone has insight into this problem, I would greatly appreciate your help in solving it!

I wish I could help you, but unfortunately, I have the same problem as you. I have veraedge firmware 1.7.850. I have contacted support, but I am not optimistic.
Another new user here. I had the same problem with my VeraLite and 2 door locks. Right now I am just in the testing phase. No notifications at all. I found a thread here that said that notifications for devices weren’t working but notifications for scenes were. So I set up my locks on scenes and and notifications indeed do work there.
I have to say that The UI7 software should barely be considered beta in nature. It is so full of things that don’t work, or don’t work correctly that it is shocking they released it. Vera was the best of the bunch for what I wanted in home automation right now so I will be patient, but wow.
