Log files (I know very very basic question)

Morning, stupid question… where do I get a copy of the log files for individual plug-ins or vera when trying to troubleshoot?

Logs for a Pugin only exist of if the Plugin explicitly create them … most do not.

The Vera Log file can be accessed by a ssh utility that you login to your Vera with … the account name is “root” the password is (originally) your Wifi password which is at the bottom of the Vera.
The log file on Vera is: /var/log/cmh/LuaUPnP.log

You can monitor the most recent changes to the Log file from the browser with:
http://Your.Vera.IP.Address/cgi-bin/cmh/log.sh?Device=LuaUPnP

Thank you sir… New to Vera but after asking a few questions, I’ll figure it out and am a quick learner…

And when sending log files at request of plugin creator, how can I make sure username and passwords are not included?

You have to edit out any sensitive information …

Typically replace the such information with XXXXXX so that the developer knows the sensitive information was present, but not disclosed.

I just posted a way to save logs files to your own FTP server vs. Vera . This is for the Vera log which many times contains log entries for the plugins).
