I’ve got a Vera 3 in the mail and I’m getting read to purchase locks since we closed on a house today. I’ll need 3 locks:

Front Door: we won’t use this door much, so I was considering going with a Schlage just to be able to see lock status. Wife would really like no keypad on the front door - are there any models that you can replace the front of the lock to remove the keypad?

Rear Door: will probably put a Kwikset w/ keypad here.

Garage Door: this will be the primary entry point, so I’ll go with a Kwikset w/ keypad.

My question is this - since my proposed setup will use locks from different companies, can they be rekeyed to a single key?

The kwiksets have a different type of key, and can’t be keyed alike to the schlage. The Yale locks have an extra option that can be ordered to make them use the schlage style of key.

Thanks… If ordering say all Kwiksets, could they be ordered with same key?

The kwiksets can be rekeyed with any key using a tool that is provided with the lock itself.
