Local Load w/Leviton Scene Controller w/Switch

So I successfully installed a 4-button scene controller with local load switch, and I’ve also successfully included both the controller and the switch separately into my network, as appropriate. I can control the local switch through Findvera without any problem. However, I now cannot any longer control the local load with one of the buttons on the controller itself.

I thought when these get installed, the top button by default controls the local load. But when I first installed, all four buttons controlled the load. Then I went through the include procedure, and now there’s no more control of the local load with one of the switches.

Anyone out there installed one of these things and can help me understand how to assign the local load to one of the four buttons on the controller itself? Thanks.

Once paired, these scene controllers no longer automaticaly control the local load. Instead, follow the procedures to build a scene in Vera to re-form the association between the button (1…4) on the scene controller and the local load.

Vera will then program the scene controller associations for you so that once again it’s controlled locally.

It would be handy if this scene was automatically created when it detected a local load scene controller.

Ah, OK. I sort of suspected this was the answer, but for some reason, I thought that there was something actually embedded in the switch itself to always force local load control through at least one of the buttons.

I’ll setup a scene. Thanks.

Yes, the instruction sheet gives the impression that button one will be automatically assigned, so it is confusing. It took me a while to figure this out, too. I should have asked @guessed about it.
