I found this project called “Listnr” on kickstarter and wanted to help promote it a little because I see a great potential of it integrating with Vera. The good thing is that the inventor has promised HTTP-based API to be included with the product launch, which means this enables voice command to control your Vera.
My only concern is the command needs to get carried out at their cloud, which means the Vera URL needs to be the external one (fwd1.mios.com). If that’s the case, does that mean I need to include my mios username and password in the URL to send it back to my Vera? I don’t feel too comfortable if that is the case, hopefully there is a better / more secured way to do it.
The Neeo will support RESTful API via HTTP so for sure I plan to tie that in to become my Vera remote. Too bad it can only be a primary Z-wave controller and cannot act as a secondary, being a secondary controller would have been a tighter integration.
