Lights-All On/Off

On the dashboard in UI7, there is a shortcut for all lights on or off. It shows how many lights are currently on. Problem is that I have a relay light switch, and a receptacle connects to lights that I would also like Vera to consider as lights. Must be a variable someplace that can make this happen. Can someone let me know how to do it?

Stop using Vera’s crappy phone app and and use another one. Homewave on ios or Imperihome on Andriod both let you group what ever you want in one switch. Doesn’t have to be only a bulb. If you really want to use vera only you need to make a scene run or tie that one light in. Vera itself doesn’t give you that flexibility to choose what you want in your group.

will either of these apps work with UI7 when not on local internet?

I know Authomation will not work since UI6 and Above.

Yes all apps do including Authomation. If you want to use Authomation you can’t use the version in the play store you need to install from here. Support for UI6 (which is same for ui7) has been added since Version: 3.3.0.2 which was done on 02/25/2014.

I use a number of iOS apps, and in many ways they are better, but all seem to have some week points.

Everything has a weak point and VERA has alot. But a strong point is you can choose from several different apps. Have you tried Homewave on iOS? It allows the most customization. I’m not one for the apps that just grab what Vera lists and it mimics the same list. Since VERA is not very customizable this gives me no advantage (one reason Authomation is not my top Android app, but it is free and has alot support so I do have it installed). It allows for custom icons where a light switch might work a fan not a light. A Mimolite might be a garage or solenoid. VERA and Vera apps don’t give you alot of options.

Yes I have Homewave, and it is one of the best for IOS.

Does Homewave return a dimmed light to its last known state? IU7s web gui or the IOS app don’t do that and it’s really annoying. If you hit light ON you get 100% unless you use a scene. I’m coming from InControl and Aeon stick where this was the norm.

Homewave does appear to keep the state when I gave it a try. You can always confirm on homewave sub-forum
