Lighting4 Support

Hello

I understand that Lighting4 protocol is not currently supported, however I was wondering if this is on the roadmap for this plugin?

I have a HomeEasy Outdoor PIR (HE413) and would really like to get some notifications if it gets triggered.

Thanks!

Hi,

http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_rfxtrx

I see HomeEasy mentioned under the ARC protocol and also Lighting4 is mentioned so are you sure you have enabled the correct protocol for your RFXtrx device in your Vera?

I was mainly going by this:

Ok then I guess your out of luck at the moment. I’m sure it will be added some day.

HomeEasy is either protocol ARC or protocol AC.
It is already supported by my plugin.

Why are you considering Lighting4 protocol ?

Please check with the RFXCOM application (RFXmngr) first.

[quote=“jh71283, post:3, topic:179829”]I was mainly going by this:

Lghting4 protocol is for PT2262 only, normally not for the HomeEasy devices.
To use this protocol, you have to know command ids and pulse timings. Clearly not something that a normal user will be able to get.
I have absolutely no idea how to integrate this properly in the Vera UI. It would require a kind of generic device + commands that the user could create dynamocally filling a command number and a pulse timing !

Hmm, in that case it looks like the HE413 is a bit of an oddball device, because when I used rfxmgr, it reported the PIR as a Lighting4 (PT2262) device.

I might look and see if I can find another outdoor PIR that is compatible.

If you enable the ARC protocol in RFXmngr you should receive the HE413 with the correct ARC codes.

The ARC protocol is in fact the same as the Lighting4 protocol. The difference is that ARC checks for known and vaid packets and translates these to ARC codes.

Implementation for receive of Lighting4 in the VERA plug-in is not advised because it will disable the ARC protocol. And there is no fixed protocol description for Lighting4 packets which makes use and implementation to difficult.

Did enabling ARC protocol finally solve the problem ?

Apologies for the slow reply;

Yes, that solved the problem!

Thanks all for your help.

I am also interested in Lighning4 support in the plugin as I want control my KingPin screen.

It is supported by the RFXdevice and mentioned in the manual.

Is it in the road map?

No for all reasons mentioned in this page.

Today, I am attempting to install an RFXtrx433E with VeraLite. It seems to be configured, and in the RFXtrx settings, I have enabled Lighting4 only ( had proven with RFXmngr that my dimmer and its remote control use this protocol.) That done, I press a button on the remote and on that same pane (RFXtrx setting) the transmission is recorded accurately. I would think that this is good - Vera is getting a correct message.

But where do I go from here? None of the choices in New Device are applicable. Am I missing another LUUP file? Suggestions requested. Thanks,
