LFM-20

Hi,

I purchased a LFM-20 to an tried to get it to work with my 2Gig control panel. I was able to include the device, but then found out it would not work. I want to remove it now and add it to my Vera (which is separate from the 2Gig) but the 2Gig deleted it and I cannot get it excluded now. To exclude the LFM it says to tap-tap-tap-hold, but I cannot get this to work and now that it has disappeared from the 2Gig panel I seem to be stuck. Can anyone offer a suggestion to fix this?

Thanks,
George

The tap tap tap hold procedure only puts in exclusion mode and it won’t exclude unless a controller excludes it at the same time it’s in this mode.

I don’t know how you do this from the 2gig, but the good news is that you can exclude with Vera (even though it wasn’t pared with it). Just go to the Devices tab > add devices > advanced Zwave devices and then select the drop down that says include, and select exclude’ and go! You may also want to change the default time from 30 seconds to something more, and maybe also select the full power option also! Just be carefull that nothing else is stwitched on or off at the same time

After doing the above you should then be able to include with Vera again.

If you tried the above already then apologies!

Ironically I just went through the same issue… Took me 20 minutes to realize. The tap tap tap hold has be done very fast… I was literally doing it over a 2-3 second period with no luck., then I tried it turbo speed so I hit the three taps and was holding the button down in less than 1 second… Then it seems as if it registered the exclusion by the 1-2 seconds later…
Hope that does the trick! I almost posted for advice on this too.

Right; it’s come up before, and it appears tricky to get this particular device excluded, but speed is certainly a factor.

I’m surprised this doesn’t work with the 2GIG Controller. Doesn’t it just see this as an ordinary switch?

I got the LFM-20 to work great with vera3 and was hoping to do this at my vacation home which will have the 2GIG Go Alarm installed. One thing about the LFM is that I had to make sure I always turned it off otherwise, the wired garage door button wouldn’t work. So I created a scene to turn it off every time it’s turned on. Is this part of the problem with the 2GIG - inability to create scenes, does it flat out not work or is it something else?

Tommy,

There is a garage door plugin files to make the relay easier to work with. It takes care off turning the relay off after a few sections however it does require using a door sensor.

Thanks Garrett. Turning off the LFM thru a scene works fine but I’m new at this and would like to get a plugin working so, I’m going to give that a try. I’m using the everspring sm103 sensors so hopefully that’s compatible with the plugin.
