I must be daft, but I can’t get this thing into pairing mode. The manual says to tap the button. Well all that does is turn on or off the load. I’ve tried tapping, triple tapping, tapping and holding.
Anybody have any pointers?
Hi, yes a double tap should do it. Let me know if it works, double taps for Evolve and Linear are pretty standard for classic inclusion. The instructions don’t say that though. 
Exclude first. Set the Vera into exclude mode and then (unlike any other device I have used) triple tap and hold the button on the LFM-20.
After excluding, then include. Set Vera into include mode and press the button on the LFM-20. A single press is all that’s need for include.

I did try excluding first; never could get it in the mode either.
I read the following Evove’s website:
After powering the device, quickly double tap the middle button. The device requires that both taps occur within approximately 20 milliseconds of each other.
I thought I was double-tapping fast, but I guess I’m not. 20ms isn’t that long.

Ok, got it done. Key was taking it taking it apart for better access to the button so I could tap it fast enough.
And Z-Waver was right: exclude first and then a single tap will include it.

Just wanted to add my support to this method. I had previously installed my lfm-20 on my Vera 2. That died and I got a VeraLite. For the life of me, I could not get the damn thing paired. Then I saw Z-Wavers instructions above and it worked! As mentioned, when doing your exclusion, tap the button 3 times quickly and on the third tap, keep the button depressed. It took me a few tries but finally I saw the rapid light on the Vera. I then switched the Vera to Include and a single tap on the lfm-20 button included it.
