Leviton VRCS4-1L scene controller not working in UI4 1047

I have been trying for 3 days now to get several Leviton VRCS4-1L Scene controllers to work under UI4. Using the online documentation for adding scene controllers I am able to get the units to pair but as far as functioning the following happens.

Setup

  1. Assign a scene to button one which is supposed to activate a Jasco wall socket.
  2. Assign a scene to button two which is supposed to deactivate a Jasco wall socket.

Results

  1. button 1 press left side of button does nothing
  2. Button 2 press left side of button activates the on scene assigned to button 1 but does not activate the scene controls button light
  3. button 3 press left side of the button activates the on scene assigned to button 1 but does not activate the scene controls button light
  4. button 4 press left side of the button activates the on scene assigned to button 1 but does not activate the scene controls button light
  5. None of the scene controllers deactivate buttons (Right side of button) work, in fact they all turn on the Jasco socket just like pressing the left sides of buttons 2 thru 4.

Any idea’s would be most appreciated and thanks in advance.

same issue here… even the dimming level buttons dont work. i can just activate scenes… thats about it

Which version of UI4 are you using?

I think the scene controller buttons don’t have a right side/left side functionality. (The zone controllers do.) You press them once for “on” and then a second time for “off”. You need to create a scene that turns your device on and a second scene to turn it off. Then, in the configuration panel for the Scene controller, select the “Scenes” tab and then on the top line for button one, select your “Jasco wall socket on” scene that you just created. Then in the bottom section select button one and select your scene which turns the socket off. You’ll need to save these changes!

Then go to the Settings tab for the scene controller and click on “Configure node right now”.

Mine are working pretty reliably now.

Edit: I just had another thought - are the Jascos “scene capable”?

I sent a ticket (#1723) last week for my RZCS4. Very similar scene controller with the same issue as you are having. I have two of these and both have the same problem.
UI4 version 1047, Vera1

i actually do have the RZCS4 sorry lol. Ui4 vera 2 though

I too am having problems with a VRCS4 scene controller. I’m using Vera2 with firmware 1.1.1047.

A few observations. When I attempt to heal the network, everything runs smoothly except for the following:

On Node 7 (my VRCS4 controller) I see the following event

Test: NOP Sent 2 test frames and 2 succeeded (100%) with average of 0.255512 seconds and maximum of 0.275615 seconds
Test: Basic_Get Sent 2 test frames and 0 succeeded (0%) with average of 0.000000 seconds and maximum of 0.000000 seconds

Not sure if that’s normal, since the VRCS4 doesn’t have any loads to report on, but it seems to me that it should be able to respond to a basic get command. I doubt it’s an RF communication problem, since the NOP test works %100 of the time, and the Vera2 is in the same room as the VRCS4.

Another oddity, I configure my lights-on and lights-off scenes to button 1 on the VRCS4, which never works. However, I know that the controller is sending data of some sort because one of my receivers has an LED that flickers whenever its receiving Z-Wave data. Also strange, SOMEtimes when I press button 2, it executes the lights-on scene, even though button 2 isn’t assigned to anything. Off never works though.

I’ve tried including and excluding the controller from the network several times, as well as factory resetting it. I’m out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you installed the Vizia plugin from the MIOS Marketplace?

JOD.

@ JOD → pardon my ignorance, but where in the Mios Marketplace were you able to download a VIZIA plugin? I am running UI4 (1.1.1047), and if I go to the MIOS Marketplace there is no VIZIA plugin. Can you please post where did you find that plugin as I am also having some issues with Leviton SCENE controllers (2 and 4 buttons) not working properly; by not working properly I mean reporting the right status’ hence failig to turn ON or OFF devices that are being controlled by scenes programmed on Vera.

Upgrade FW to 1.1.1062. Go to Mios Marketplace and check the box in the upper left corner “Show unrealesed beta plugins” Its on page 3.

JOD.

@JOD: Could you tell me what this plugin does? I thought the latest versions of UI4 had Leviton proprietary support built-in. Do we still need to use this plugin?
