I’m relatively new to Z-wave but have a tech background (have a Vera 3 with two Schlage locks that work great other than eating batteries).
I installed a Leviton DZR15 outlet (from Home Depot) and installed it as a “Other Z-Wave”. It shows up as a light bulb icon. It seemed to be working OK but now when I remotely try to turn it off I get an “Cannot contact device, error code: 2”
This message is exactly as it says. You must figure out why Vera is unable to reach the device.
Does the device have power? - Power cycle the device. It should operate when you press the button on the device.
Is the device too far away from Vera or the Z-Wave network? Move the device close to Vera (within 5 feet) and see if the device works there.
2a. If the device works close to Vera but not in the desired location, a network heal might figure out a route between Vera and the device (provided that there are intermediate routing nodes(not battery operated).
2b. Add intermediate routing nodes to increase the robustness and range of the Z-Wave network.
