Okay, I run a B&B and I have Lennox mini-split units, like https://resources.lennox.com/FileUploads/37ae364e-a687-4250-87b9-7a0650ff1b31r33139-main-lg.png but basically, the easiest way to control them is IR. For the guests, I normally give them a learning remote with a few set functions. What I want to do is set window sensors so that if they open a window, the A/C turns off. I was hoping that there is a Z-Wave (or Zigbee, or anything else that I can program) that I could use to turn off the AC unit if they open the window.
The window sensor part is easy. It’s the IR part that I don’t know how to do. Is there a commercial product that has a learning IR system that I could get? Another way I can control the A/C or prevent guests from having a window open and the A/C on? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
I also have the older Sensibo units on the AC. They can actually send IR codes, but because of the way that they programmed them, they toggle on/off… the learning remotes don’t. The code they send seems to have the full instructions on on/off plus settings in one.
