Led's go off unexpectedly with GE dimmer

I got the GE dimmer installed and working yesterday (after dealing with a bad GE zwave on/of out of the box, GRRRR)

Now I have an issue with the lamps just “dropping out” at random when on at 100%. The two table lamps controlled by this new dimmer have (4) 8w LED’s from Home Depot. I’m not sure of the brand.

Is the problem, not enough wattage for the dimmer? Or is the dimmer defective?

I wanted a standard GE Z-Wave ON/OFF switch in this position, but the switch was bad out of the box, causing me hours of delay before I figured it out.

That is very frustrating but you made the right call on the 45609 to begin with. A total load of 32 watts is probably not going to work very well with ANY dimmer, so yes sounds like that’s the problem.

you would need a dummy load :slight_smile:
