I just unpacked my vera 2 this week after moving to a new house. When I hooked it up and was setting it up, the UI told me there was a new firmware available for it. I went ahead and installed it (still on UI4). Now, there appears to be a few things missing/broken. I used to be able to go my schlage lock and go to the log tab and see the logs. Now, when I go to the Logs tab, it’s just completely blank. Where can I find the log that tells me when someone opened the successfully, entered an incorrect code, etc? It used to be available via the logs tab on the device, now it’s missing/not working.
Also - on a side note - my 5 yr old son pointed out to me tonight that he is able to basically enter any 2 digit pin starting with 0 and hit the schlage button afterwards and it unlocks the door! What the heck? That’s not very secure. That is what brought me to discover that the logs tab for the schlage lock device is missing the log data :(((.
Any idea on where to find the logs for the schlage lock device? Is there an issue with that patch or did something happen unexpectedly with the update? What should I try at this point?
Thanks,
Chad
I discovered that the odd behavior with the lock only occurs if the lock is set to unlocked. Otherwise it functions normally. I would still like to be able to access the lock logs from the UI easily.
I also would like to know what happened to the tab/screen that showed you a list of all pins so that if you ticked the option to keep a copy of my pin codes so that they can be viewed later, you could see the complete list. That option/tab appears to have been removed in the latest version as well. Those 2 bits of functionality are very important to me. To have lost them in the firmware upgrade is enough to make me thinking about downgrading.
I remembered after running across an article that mcv moved logs to cp.mios.com. however nothing is showing up there. Oddly, the date is highlighted under events, but when I click on it the results show a blank page with the text of Luup events at the top. Any ideas?
OK, I figured out the notifications/events issue. Apparently, you have to setup actual notifications for each event on each device that you want to monitor in the logs. Without setting up the notifications on the device, mios does not log the events. Hope this helps someone in the future.
hello, can you please give me the steps by steps instruction to set this up? Thanks!!!
Instructions for what exactly? Setting up notifications or vera or the lock?
