landscape lighting

Is it possible to give me some input (or other alternatives)about luxor zdc controller
(By Fxluminaire)seems to be the only wifi landscape lighting system to be controled by smartphone.
cost (very expensive or not)and installation ( easy or not)?
Thanks. Pierre

I don’t know about that one, but as an alternative, I use Malibu LED lights and power supply (home depot / lowes) and a GE Zwave outdoor switch (lowes) and VERA and it works very well. I also use Homewave on my Iphone to manually control, but I mostly rely on VERA and PLEG conditions to control them.

I am doing the same thing as paulcusick3l with my outdoor lights. Outdoor receptacle from lowes and using scenes(sunset) to turn lights on and a set time(around my bedtime) to turn them off. Need to start playing with PLEG to figure out a few other things.

My low voltage lighting transformer was plugged into a Normal outlet/receptical outside with a water proof cover on it. I just used the LOWES GE 45605 with what was already there. It’s one of those clear door open lids to protect from water.

I set the timer or transformer to always on and verified with power getting switched on and off the digital timer would always come back on and used PLEG to control my timer now. Ofcouse with any Vera app you can flip it on or off too.

I was going to handle this like integlikewhoa, but I would like to control both outlets in the duplex outlet and I don’t believe any such zwave product exists. My outdoor circuit is 20 amp (won’t be using anywhere near that many amps) and runs directly to breaker box with no switches in between.

Rather than using a zwave duplex outlet, is this an application for a zwave contact placed in the waterproof box before a regular duplex outlet? Is that what contacts are for, to energize an item, or in this case, an entire outlet?

Thanks.

Use a double micro switch. If you want two of them to be seperate or a single micro if you want them both on and off at the same time.
